Next in my blog, I will launch a series on the changes we can expect to see as part of Release Wave 2 for 2025.
Microsoft’s 2025 Release Wave 2 for Dynamics 365 Sales introduces a whole series of new AI-driven enhancements and tools designed to help sellers work smarter, close deals faster, and deliver more personalised customer experiences.
Copilot and AI Innovation
Users will soon be able to navigate their sales data with ease and by using natural language through the re-imagine Sales Dashboards and various Sales Agents, which we will cover in more detail below. This means a seller could type “show opportunities closing this quarter over £50,000” and instantly see the relevant list without complex filters.

And they will receive back some really detailed analysis of where those various opportunities sit and an overview of their history.

Data entry will also become faster thanks to the Form Fill Assist Toolbar, offering AI-powered suggestions to reduce manual input. Imagine creating a new lead record and having the system suggest the company name, email, and phone number based on previous interactions.

Finally, AI Agents in Dynamics 365 Sales will now be available directly out-of-the-box with minimal configuration, connecting autonomous agents with processes enabling further automation and contextual decision-making.
Lead Management Enhancements
Enhancements to the lead table means we are now able to automatically link relevant CRM data to leads, ensuring sellers have the right context during interactions. For example, when a new lead is created, the system could pull in related account history and previous conversations.

The Sales Qualification Agent will autonomously research and engage leads, validate emails, and improve pipeline quality. A real-world scenario might involve the agent confirming a lead’s LinkedIn profile and company details before passing it to a seller.
To make research even more useful, users can add their own web sources to the agent, creating a specific experience for lead qualification, i.e, a seller targeting the healthcare industry could add trusted medical news sites to add more industry-related content.
Opportunity Acceleration
The Sales Close Agent will then provide AI-driven recommendations to help sellers take the right actions at the right time, i.e. it might suggest sending a personalised proposal or scheduling a call based on buyer engagement signals.

Alongside this, the Opportunity Research Agent will uncover additional insights and risks in real time, helping sellers accelerate deals and make informed decisions. An example of this could be identifying that a competitor recently launched a similar product, prompting the seller to adjust their pitch.
Seller Experience Improvements
Managing account structures that have multiple sub-accounts and contacts will become simpler with Hierarchical Data Visualisation, which allows users to easily view and work with hierarchical relationships within their Accounts.
This is fully dependent, however, on the data being accurate within the solution. Below is a simple visualisation of the Contact structure under an Account using the Contact to Account lookup. But we could expand on this but linking multiple Accounts together to create an additional layer of hierarchy.

This improvement enhances relationship management and strategic planning for large accounts. For example, a seller working with a multinational corporation can quickly see parent-child account relationships and identify decision-makers across regions.
Summary
The 2025 Release Wave 2 for Dynamics 365 Sales is all about giving sellers more AI-driven tools and automation through data capture and reporting.
That smarter data entry flows through to autonomous lead qualification and opportunity acceleration, with all these updates being designed to reduce manual work and help sellers focus on what matters most, building relationships and selling.
With most of these features available from August and general availability in October, now is the time to start testing how these features can work.
